Generational Astrology

I decided to revive my astrology blog. It has been a few years. The interim has seen me still immersed in my astrology craft. A personal healing journey took precedence over public blogging.

Amongst some life occurrences of this time were 2 most blessed events. The births of 2 more grandchildren in 2016 & 2017.

Naturally as an astrologer I was onto the birth charts as soon as they drew breath. I impressed onto my son the need for accurate birth times. The first independent breath from the mother is the classed as the moment of birth for astrological purposes. It is believed at that point the Universal energy switches on the personal life force of the native.

My precious Grandson was born with Saturn conjunct the Ascendant, exact at 10 seconds. I noted Saturn was also square Neptune & Chiron in the 4th house. I was concerned but not surprised to hear he had fluid on the lungs through birth complications. I explained to my son his beloved baby may have fears of water & may have a weak chest due to his initial life experience of struggle for breath. I also explained he is not destined to live with it because it seems to be deep seated fear based which he can overcome. Neptune rules fluid, the 4th house is our ancestral roots & deep foundations. Saturn rules seriousness and hard work. The Ascendant rules our identity and personality. Chiron rules our weakness to heal & learn from. The conjunct aspect shows Saturn is integral and fused to his Ascendant giving him as overall filter of a Saturn type of personality ie serious, mature for his age and hard working. The square aspect is an aspect of challenges that require action to overcome.

I also urged for my grandson to be taught to swim as soon as they could because I believed he would have a fear of water. Yet his Chiron shows to overcome this fear will help him on many personal levels eg breathing, fear facing & inner self belief. He also has the potential to help teach & heal others in this regard once his own lessons are learnt.

As life would have it my little Grandson & his family moved quite a distance to the coast last year. Neptune's domain is all around him in geography & culture. His parents immediately enrolled him in swimming lessons. Unsurprisingly he detested the lessons. He has also been diagnosed with Asthma recently. His parents will persevere with his swimming. His confidence is very slightly increasing but I foretell this little one is going to take a long time & a lot of patience to become proficient in the water. The effort will certainly be worth it on many deep & life affirming levels. This is the Saturn energy.

In comparison my one and only Grandaughter was born 13mths after my little Grandson. This little lady has Mars conjunct the Ascendant at 2 degrees and Neptune in a tight Trine aspect from the 10th house. She too has swimming lessons & loves the water. The instructors have been amazed at how well she has taken to learning to swim as one of the younger ones. She seems to have no fear of the water and in fact needs to be constantly watched as, without hesitation, she just loves to jump into the pool and go under the water. For her the water is pure delight. She has been termed "a natural" & a "little mermaid". Mars conjunct the Ascendant shows an impulsive and somewhat dare devil energy. Neptune in the 10th shows her swimming reputation as the 10th house is the house of reputation and public status. The Trine aspect is an easy aspect that shows a natural flow of energy within the native.

I am very interested in generational astrology. Looking at my Grandson's Neptune square Saturn, it is also in my own chart. My Saturn is in the 4th house and Neptune in the 12th house. We are both the eldest sibling to a close in age younger sibling. We both had to be responsible from a very young age. My 4th house Saturn shows my responsibilities seem to focus on home, family & the ancestors. My Grandson's Saturn seems to focus on his identity, physicality & personality. My Neptune is in its house of rulership, the 12th. This gives Neptune the best forum in which to express its energies eg. Spirituality, imagination, sacrifice & artistic expression. My Grandson's 4th house Neptune shows lack of consistent boundaries at home, imaginative pursuits at home, kindness but instability at home. So the difference in expressing this same energy aspect is that I look to my own home and ancestral roots to feel secure & stabilise my imaginative fears and psychic challenges. Whereas my Grandson will look to his own identity and physical presence to feel secure and stabilise his home and family environment.

Patterns seem to repeat within family astrological charts. I believe we are all part of larger soul groups. These soul groups are very often repeated in ancestral lineage. We are all energy patterns and frequencies that resonate & attract the karmic soul lessons we need to evolve and heal soul groups' energy vibrations. By living our journey we are fulfilling our Universal contract from this earthly dimension. Our Earth bound frequencies are embodied in dna genealogy. Each individual soul has  lessons and knowledge to imprint & impart. Ego is individual, soul is part of the whole. The whole is Spirit. No matter how many times we or our past & future ancestors incarnate on this plane, it is for the benefit of the whole. I believe astrology is one of many journey maps we are given to navigate.
